But no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, that is Jesus Christ. 1 Cor 3:11

My Recent Witnessing

Posted by Lydia on September 12, 2018

I just went and met my new neighbour and shared the Gospel with her, gave her a tract and invited her to Bible study. She was very glad to meet me and chat. I then spent time outside in the cold wind talking to my other neighbours who I have met before. God is so great! A year ago I wouldn’t have been able to overcome the desire to eat or have a hot drink or go on Facebook or read a book instead of going outside at that point. The desire was strong, but God’s Spirit and His Word was stronger. And My mind has been trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil (Hebrews 5.14) Glory to God, he has done it!

Today I went to Pearls in Eltham. Spent most of the time praying, learned more about Maori culture and their faith in Jesus, I spoke, got prayed for, and went out to preach the Gospel at lunchtime. I spoke to different people about different things at the conference. I was keen to go out and share the Gospel from the beginning of the day when I realized I was in my power wheelchair and I had a supply of tracts. I gave Gospel tracts to about 8 Phillipino road engineers, explaining what they were, and door knocked – except I couldn’t reach the door because of the steps – at one house because the lady was in the sun porch. On the way back, I met a group of Christians- I told one man what I had been doing evangelizing and gave him my last pamphlet about evangelism, and gave nearly the whole group tracts on loving our neighbours, explaining we shouldn’t be partial, we should 1) Glorify God 2) Preach the Gospel 3) Rescue babies from being murdered, and other things from the most recent video on my page. Somehow, Glory to God, I got back before the worship music resumed. And I learnt a lot of things in the afternoon, too.

Glory to the Lord God Almighty, who reigns forever more. Just gave these to a man with a little girl in a pushchair. He agreed with the dropcard and thanked me for the Gospel tract. A lady picked up one of my cards, I told her “that’s for you if you like” and she took it.

The Gospel is that Jesus died on the cross for sinners, so that we could be forgiven if we repent of our sin and believe that He died for us and rose again. Those who repent become disciples, or "trainers" and learn to obey Jesus' commandments. We do this by imitating Christ.
